Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
bvidz.com privacy policy for users
2. Hosting
bvidz.com is hosted on secure servers managed by the site's administrators. The data pertaining to users is securely protected against access by any external entities.
3. Access to servers, databases and administration of site
Server access is restricted to a small number of authorised personnel under signed Non-Disclosure Agreements. All server access is protected by key-based authentication; password-only login is disabled. Programmers and contractors are granted the minimum permissions required for their specific task and do not have access to the full database. The application connects to the database using a dedicated service account with role-based restrictions — it cannot modify user roles, ownership flags, or collection-level security settings. The user database is protected by authentication, role-based access control, and document-level validation rules that prevent unauthorised privilege escalation. Site administration is limited to the BVidz Admin Team. All administrative actions are logged.
4. Privacy Respected
Your privacy is paramount and our founder is adamant about this issue. We will never conduct click-tracking, install spyware, or analyze your speech, behavior, mood, or face. If a software feature could introduce a risk to your privacy, we point it out.
5. No Timeline Manipulation
Your Timeline is not artificailly manipulated: Your stream feed is displayed chronologically or first come first served and all content is presented in the order it is posted or fetched from the original source. We do not artificially promote streams or spam your timeline and give you the power to filter your own feeds.
6. Login/Cookies
BVidz uses cookies and similar technologies (such as HTML5 localStorage) to keep you logged in and to support core site functionality. A cookie is a small file stored on your device that your browser sends back to us on subsequent visits. If you are merely browsing without logging in, cookies do not identify you personally. For logged-in users, a cookie stores a session identifier that ties requests to your account. All cookies we set are essential for the operation of the site — we do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. If you disable cookies in your browser, you will not be able to log in or use BVidz services. Some pages may embed third-party content (such as embedded videos) that sets its own cookies. We do not control or take responsibility for third-party cookies set by external services.
7. Data Management for features.
Live Chat data during Live stream or web conference is deleted completely from our servers when stream terminates.
Private messages are encrypted at rest in our database using a dedicated encryption key. If data is accessed without the key — by anyone, including our own administrators — it appears as unreadable ciphertext, not readable text. Transport between your device and our server is protected by TLS (HTTPS/WSS), which prevents interception by ISPs, proxies, or any other party in transit. Messages are delivered in real-time over encrypted WebSocket connections. We do not currently implement end-to-end encryption (E2EE), meaning our server is able to decrypt message content. This is a deliberate decision: Australian data retention and assistive technology legislation requires service providers to retain and, where lawfully compelled, disclose communications. We comply with Australian law. Limited data may only be disclosed to authorised law enforcement agencies pursuant to a valid warrant or court order. We do not sell, share, or log message content for any other purpose.
Registration data. BVidz stores the personal information Members provide in their profile. Members can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can view registration details except any passwords which are hashed out. Members are advised to use proper Email address for registration. Accounts with temporary emails will be suspended. This means the username cannot be used again.
Account Deletion. If a Member decides to delete account, this information is hard deleted. Account deletion may be suspended in the event of a pending legal case or the user consistently violates the Terms of bvidz.com. If a user persists to violate terms the account will be permanently banned.
Images and voice messages in conversations are stored as files and deleted automatically after 24 hours or 7 days.
8. Live Conferences, Streams and RTMP/RTMPS OBS Third party Transport Security
In-site streaming and conferencing is protected by WebRTC, which encrypts all media in transit using DTLS-SRTP. This prevents interception by ISPs, proxies, or any other party between you and our server. Streams pushed from external software (such as OBS) are available in two modes: RTMP (unencrypted) and RTMPS (encrypted with TLS). RTMPS is recommended for streaming over untrusted or public networks. Each account is assigned a unique, randomly generated stream key that is required to publish — without it, no one can push to your stream path. Our RTMP/RTMPS ingest ports are not publicly accessible from the general internet. If you are streaming via RTMP over an untrusted network, we strongly recommend using a VPN or switching to RTMPS. If you believe your stream key has been compromised - regenerate a new one.
9. We Do Not Sell or Share Data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, data brokers, advertising networks, or any other external entity. Your data is not provided to any list, database, or agency — public or private. Site administrators and developers do not have access to your personal data for any purpose other than operating and maintaining the service. The only circumstances under which data may be disclosed are: where required by a valid Australian warrant or court order, or where necessary to comply with a legal obligation. In all such cases, we will disclose the minimum information required and will notify you where legally permitted.
10. System Emails & Newsletters
Users will receive system messages. When there is a request of any kind system will auto generate email notification. System emails cannot be disabled. System emails are simply: password reset, email confirmation or account/admin related.
Newsletters are sent from time to time by email from hello@bvidz to inform members of latest features, maintanence times, and changes in administration. Members can feel free to unsubscribe at any time via footer of newsletter.
11. Data collection. Who can view?
Site administrators can view user data within the admin panel as necessary to operate and maintain the service. Programmers and contractors have access only to the specific parts of the database required for their assigned task, as described in section 3.When you log in, we record the device type and browser in use. You can review and remove your active sessions in Settings → Devices.
Our web servers retain standard access logs (including IP addresses) for 14 days for security and troubleshooting, after which they are automatically deleted.
12. Legal Liabilities and responsibilities
BVidz operates in compliance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). In the event of a data breach, we will assess the incident, take reasonable steps to contain and remediate it, and notify affected users and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. If a valid warrant, court order, or other lawful compulsion is presented by an authorised agency, we will comply and disclose the minimum information required. We will notify the affected user of the disclosure where legally permitted to do so. Site administrators and developers are bound by Non-Disclosure Agreements and are subject to disciplinary and legal action for any unauthorised access to or disclosure of user data. BVidz is not liable for data loss or service interruption caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to internet outages, hardware failure, or acts of third parties.
